we create the dungeon for our own heart and then we blame the jailer

Truth

There is no exception for truth

There is no hope in a lie

The purity of truths pain

Empties the heart of darkness

As we live

So shall we end

Regrets or peace

Actions or words

Love demands truth

Truth commands love

Throw away the books

Toss aside the fear

In our hearts we are sanctified

Live only truth

Speak only truth

And rise above

The sheep at your feet

The closet

The door opens

And the faint scent of you

The devils stepchild

Sucking love from the air

Leaving only grief

Lies

Pornography

At my feet

Selfish desire

Images unfiltered

The unholy union

Of victim and torturer

Trapped

Inside each other

At His feet

Now I must learn to let you go

Expecting nothing in return

It’s all about if I can show

For your touch I no longer yearn

This is the love I want so dear

The one where I just give

No matter the end there is no fear

And nothing to forgive

I must pray my way and change my heart

The one that sometimes takes

So even when we are apart

I love for just your sake

What controls my selfish needs

Must feel the fires heat

Until its teeth no longer feed

Not a savior

Truth is seduced by the winds of desire

IN MY FOOTSTEPS

I walked this path

So long ago

That now my lover treads

Where all that mattered

Was search for youth

And confirmation in more beds

The memory still stings

And the karma still burns

From this error of my past life

And now I watch most helplessly

As the lie consumes my wife

I want to save her from the pain

That comes from such a choice

For it is never worth the gain

What comes from such a voice

No Knights

You are no damsel in distress

As you strut and stomp in your sexy dress

No Fear of dark or end of days

Life preferred in a purple haze

A knight in armor a curse indeed

As he fends and fights the devils seed

Beneath the metal his eyes blood red

Full of eternities potential dread

He battles for you against your will

For you mean more than any thrill

No greater love has yet endured

A win that can never be secured

He prays beneath the weight of tin

For the you that hides within

He’d give up all to see a way

For you and heaven to meet one day

For you and heaven to meet one day

My dark desire

Lord strip away the dark desire

That places me in first

Replace it with your kind inspire

And take away this thirst

Now fill my heart with selfless love

The kind my soul longs for

Send it from the holy dove

So that her heart can not ignore

This pure request now observed

My lover will know the truth

It is her heart I wish to serve

And give it rest beneath my roof

A Love Lost

Love’s walk is beautiful until you drown

Poetry will never bring her back

No poem will change a woman’s heart

It’s impossible but true

For once they want to be apart

There is nothing you can do

But do not weep and do not cry

For there will come a time

When all the answers and reasons why

Will come drifting down the line

Then you’ll understand the hurt

The lesson you needed most

And all the help that came to you

THE WALL

I created the bricks

You used

To build the wall

That separates our love

Oh that I could crush

The hands that made them

And eat the hurt

I caused you

Oh that I could raze

That which we created

Instead I face my lover

And see only bricks

Now I work

To change my sins

So God

Can take down

What stands between us

FIDELITY

Much is made

Of this promise

For the body and the senses

Long for experience

As we make the oath

Flesh cries out its anguish

And the mind conspires

The first betrayal

For the promise

Is not of mind

Or Flesh

It is from

Somewhere

Deeper

A place

Where God still dwells

A place

Where spirit reigns

And the world

retreats

We transcend the flesh

We control the senses

We dwell for a time

In a Holy place

Until the day

Flesh and Mind

Reclaim us

And God

Can be no more
